What is Mount Dora Center for the Arts?  Who are its members?
Why should I become a member of MDCA?

The Mount Dora Center for the Arts is first and foremost….people. Our membership consists of people just like you….single persons, couples and families, from the very young to the young at heart.  From various walks of life, our members share a common belief that the Arts enhance the quality of life and help to better the community in which we live.

Led by the Board of Trustees, MDCA members give over 5,000 hours of volunteer service each year.  Our members help to plan and carry out gallery exhibits, education programs such as art classes, seminars, lectures, and summer art camps, plus special events such as the Arts Festival and Art of the Deal. 

The Mount Dora Center for the Arts is a strong presence in our community.  Our gallery hosts changing exhibits of original art by community and regional artists.

Our Education Programs are taught by experienced, award winning Artist Instructors.  We offer classes such as painting, drawing, clay, mixed media, calligraphy, music, and dance (ballet, tap, and jazz) to students of all ages.  During Spring Break, we collaborate with the Mount Dora Friends of the Environment to offer a “Science to Art” Camp for elementary age children.  In the summer, MDCA offer arts and crafts  “mini-camps” for children, and fun workshops for adults.  We provide interesting lecture and demonstration programs for luncheon clubs, retirement homes, and schools.

MDCA produces the Annual Mount Dora Arts Festival, Lake County’s largest event.  Featuring 285 artists and drawing over 250,000 people to Mount Dora, the festival brings hundreds of thousands of dollars into our local economy.  We are proud to partner with local nonprofit service organizations to provide them with fund-raising opportunities during the Festival.
