MOUNT DORA CENTER FOR THE ARTS EVENTS
| Mount Dora is known as Florida’s Best Kept Secret. For years, “in the know” visitors have flocked to Mount Dora to shop for antiques and unusual gift items. However, in the past few years, the city of Mount Dora has become highly respected for the quality and quantity of original fine art in their very own Mount Dora Center for the Arts. . With more than a dozen special events downtown each year, the Art Festival is the crown jewel. The Art Festival is one of the nation’s leading outdoor art events. Besides the unbelievable turnout, the artists are brilliant and refreshing; there is something for everybody both in selection and in cost. The Center maintains a year-round calendar of arts-related events and activities. |
| EXHIBIT SERIES
While you’re in Mount Dora, take a few moments to stop by the Mount Dora Center for the Arts. You’ll see excellent work by very talented artists, and can receive more information about the arts in our area. Located at 138 East Fifth Avenue just across the street from Donnelly Park, Mount Dora Center for the Arts gallery hosts changing exhibits of original art. Presenting approximately ten different gallery exhibits per year, Mount Dora Center for the Arts concentrates on making the work of exceptional regional artists available to the public. Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday, 10am till 2pm or by appointment.

THE ART FESTIVAL
Mount Dora Center for the Arts produces the annual Mount Dora Arts Festival, which is held the first weekend of each February. The festival, which will celebrate its 34th anniversary on February 7th & 8th, 2009, supports our community economically via cultural tourism, while providing artists a venue to show and sell their work. Approximately 300,000 people attend the festival each year, enjoying the work of the 285 artists selected to participate. Many patrons attending the festival as a first time visitor to Mount Dora return again and again, enjoying the natural beauty and quaint charm of our area.

| ART STROLL
This exceptional free event meanders through downtown Mount Dora offering an entire evening of fun. The participation and turn out is always so great. Join us for the next Art Stroll for a Friday night full of art, music, wine & entertainment featuring local and regional artists. A festive evening of art, music and hors d'oeuvres designed to showcase regional art at several walk-able venues throughout Downtown Mount Dora. Maps can be picked up at any location along the stroll. The main locations feature regional art from several organizations and independent artists including the Florida Committee of the Arts, Women in the Arts, Mount Dora Art League, Eustis Art League, chArt, and the Leesburg Art Association.

ART OF THE DEAL
Mount Dora Center for the Arts invites you to celebrate the arts this year with a premiere cultural celebration, “Casino Royale”. Held at the Donnelly Park Building on November 7, 2009 in historic downtown Mt. Dora, Casino Royale offers catered cuisine, open bar with wine and top shelf liquor, dancing, alluring live and silent auction items, and musical entertainment. Art donated by artists represented in the 2009 Arts Festival will be featured, as well as donations provided by area merchants and professionals including magnificent art, stunning jewelry, romantic getaways, gourmet gift baskets and much more!
